Best Punk Rock Bands

Welcome to a place where I can share my punk rock passion for bands like Mayday Parade, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus and The All American Rejects.

Rise Against:Endgame

I can remember the exact place I was in when I heard Rise Against for the first time in the form of The Approaching Curve. Their music is made up of strong vocals, great guitar, insane drumming and (the key ingredient) raw emotion.

Most place Rise Against in the sub genre Melodic Hardcore. Their new album, Endgame, isn't as hardcore as their older stuff, but it's still damn good. Endgame is more of this band's unique sound and addresses real-world issues such as gay rights.

Hey Monday (Hey it's a female punk rocker!)

I stumbled upon this band while going through some music a friend gave me. I'm generally not a fan of punk rock bands with female singers, but i love Hey Monday!
Their music is light and their earlier songs have a garage band feel to them. I find that their song structure is very similar to Mayday Parade's. If you would like an idea of what this band sounds like then i recommend listening to the following songs: "Run, Don't Walk" "Homecoming" and "Candles"

SUM41: Screaming Bloody Murder

Their fifth album Screaming Bloody Murder didn't top the charts as some expected, but it's a great album nonetheless.

Mayday Parade: Great Music

This is my all time favorite album ever. I couldn't find it anywhere in South Africa, so i got someone to buy it for me in Australia and bring it to SA.
The album Anywhere But Here is their second full length album. Following the success of their first album, A Lesson In Romantics, they recorded their second album with a bigger budget- which is definitely evident- This album is a more refined continuation of Mayday Parade's musical wizardry. Personally I hope that they will continue to bring us an audiogasm of punk rock music (Acoustic is nice, but too much is just too much [ Valdosta EP ])

Yellowcard: 2011 Album; When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes

Yellowcard have gone back to their roots with this one; their old faithful fans will love how similar this album sounds to Ocean Avenue. Released in March 2011, When You're Through Thinking, Say Yes, is a well developed and well finished off album with a lot of variety in it.
